Yesterday our album was 6 Music's album of the day, and we're in Rough Trade records 'recommended this week'. Plenty of nice reviews knocking about too. Here's just a few of them..
the album's most immediate moment, 'Black Fang' (yes, this is the one to play over and over while driving through a thunderstorm in Hebden Bridge) is stompingly cheery and neatly odds with the prevailing heavy heart. Curious to note that 'Black Fang' sits 10 songs into this impressive collection and, by the time you emerge there, you will have travelled pretty much the full gamut of human...or at least, Mancunian emotion.
Music OMH ****
The aforementioned Kissing Strangers is an undoubted highlight, a lovely slice of symphonic pop that should, by all rights, be blasting from every shop doorway this summer
It’s safe to say that the Ivor Novello award-winning Cherry Ghost, aided by Dan Austin (Doves, Massive Attack), has nailed the art of making ‘a grower’. For those of you with patience, this is an enrapturing listen.
the songwriting is rather marvellous. Cherry Ghost aren’t rewriting any rule books for guitar music and for what may or may not be considered ‘country’, but they’re very good at what they do.

Terrific reviews, but WTF is
Terrific reviews, but WTF is with the Mojo write-up? How does the band "divide opinion"? In my experience there are two sets of people: those that know Cherry Ghost and think they are good/great; and those that have never heard (of) them.
